 Pikesville Tigers Pathfinder Club

Do you enjoy Camping? Backpacking? Biking? Caving? Marching? Drilling? Meeting Friends?  Then Join the Pikesville Tigers Pathfinder Club.  Our club members enjoy camping, meetings, adventures and networking.

The Philosophy of Pathfindering

The purpose of having a Pathfinder Club is to lead youth into a growing, redemptive relationship with Christ, and to build them into responsible, mature individuals and to involve teens and youth in active selfless service. All Pathfinder leaderks are Christians, working hand in hand with parents, teachers, and pastors providing optimum opportunities for Christian development. The Pathfinder Club is an extension of the home, school and church, it is an experiential environment where growth and learning flourish.

The membership involves youth in grades 5-10 who have a desire for group activities ranging from community and world mission projects to nature, out door work and camping activities.

The best preparation “is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.” {Education, page 13}.

Class Curriculum

Each Pathfinder is assigned and placed in a class based on their age and maturity level. Classes include bible, nature and useful studies to aid in each child’s development. The learning of useful and helpful things to do in around the home, out-of-door activities, first aid, and personal and home hygiene. Classes include:

The love of Christ compels us.

  • By the grace of God,

  • I will be pure and kind and true.

  • I will keep the Pathfinder Law.

  • I will be a servant of God

  • and a friend to man.

The Pathfinder Law is for me to:

  • Keep the morning watch.

  • Do my honest part.

  • Care for my body.

  • Keep a level eye.

  • Be courteous and obedient.

  • Walk softly in the sanctuary.

  • Keep a song in my heart.

  • Go on God's errands.
